Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food - oftentimes thoughts in my head or even write pieces about love or life. Hope you have a nice stay!

Le Petit Chef Grand Hyatt Jakarta

A tiny chef. That’s all it takes. A tiny chef to create all of this wonderful experience for a few nights only. This tiny chef is actually pretty special, he not only can cook, he is able to take us on a journey following the footsteps of Marco Polo to six different countries across the famous silky road all under 2 hours. Without further ado, this is

LE PETIT CHEF

Established in the year of 2015 by Skullmapping, this is one of a FUN, not FINE, dining experience experience. This unique experience takes us on a whole new level of creativity. They give 6 different dishes from appetizer, main course to finally dessert. It is indeed one of a kind experience that you would never find elsewhere.

The performance was quite astonishing and if curiosity is in your blood then this is the place for you to try. Not only it makes your eyes glimmer every time you see the next act, its food presentation is actually not disappointing as well.

The Journey Begins: Bouillabaisse parfait, brioche, saffron rouille

Kinda like this openings to be honest, not only the presentation is pretty but somehow I like really like the boullabaisse parfait. Some people say it’s too salty but I think the taste is just right. It was a pretty good start.

Arabia: Barley tabbouleh, lamb pastilla potato harra, tuna baharat

This is their second dish and look how fancy it is ! Don’t mind me, but I think I’m not a fan of Arabian food. The barley is honestly pretty okay, it’s just there was a lot of seeds. The lamb is acceptable but not the potato. I find the potato harra tastes a bit funny and definitely not a fan.

India: Butter chicken, jeera rice, paratha

By this third course, I got pretty full. I know right?! Hard to believe but that’s the sad truth. This one right here is actually the best out of all. The paratha is nice, the jeera rice was perfectly cooked - the butter chicken though, I think it’s…

By this third course, I got pretty full. I know right?! Hard to believe but that’s the sad truth. This one right here is actually the best out of all. The paratha is nice, the jeera rice was perfectly cooked - the butter chicken though, I think it’s a bit too sweet. If they put a little bit of salt I personally think it would’ve been perfect.

Himalayas: Lemon sorbet, masala chaiI’m sorry but they say it’s supposed to clean my palate but it failed to do so. Reason? Lemon sorbet is supposed to be sour not sweet, this is the otherwise. Need more explanations?

China: Steamed gindara, chicken siu mai, rice ball, Hongkong sauce.

I think we all know the best chinese food are the traditional ones and I didn’t expect much from this. However though, I am quite disappointed with the Siu Mai. It’s just their flour is so thick that I can barely eat it. Gindara tho - it was quite refreshing, which is good.

Nothing will ever go wrong with Creme Brulee just like when you eat Tiramisu isn’t it? Well, that’s the problem, this creme brulee got it all wrong. Please please please, don’t ever combine Saffron Spiced Rice Pudding and Creme Brulee, it tastes too weird to be exact.

I wouldn’t say this worth the price but it is indeed a unique experience that you don’t want to miss. It’s true how the price is actually overpriced.
