Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food - oftentimes thoughts in my head or even write pieces about love or life. Hope you have a nice stay!

Ayer Itam Sister Curry Mee

Ayer Itam Sister Curry Mee

Meet the legendary sisters, that’s what they say. These sisters have been making and selling curry mee since 1946. The story of these two sisters, Mdm. Lim Kooi Heang and Mdm. Lim Kooi Lai create the curry mee using their own chili paste. The reason they decided to start selling their Curry Mee was to support their dear mother during the World War II; in fact, the sisters never marry.

The food stall is located near Kek Lok Si temple, which is a bit out of town from Georgetown. However, I feel that it is worth to try! They closes at 1 pm, so it’s better for you to come early in the morning before they ran out of curry mee!

Take this from someone who’s not a big fan of Laksa or these kinds of curry - but this one’s a steal! I like how the broth is thick and delish. It’s a self-serve dish where you can chose how spicy you want or which spices you want to get. Overall, this place deserves a 7/10.
