Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food - oftentimes thoughts in my head or even write pieces about love or life. Hope you have a nice stay!

Seniman Coffee Studio - Ubud, Bali

Seniman Coffee Studio - Ubud, Bali

When I was in Bali, a visit to Ubud is kind of a must for me - if time allows it. Taking a short break from the busy street of Seminyak is as important as breathing fresh air. Ubud is know as one of the most favorite areas for foreigners if they’re looking for a place to relax and chill. It’s more into the ‘green’ area instead of beaches. It is also very well known as the center of traditional crafts and dance. You can find a few of coffee tastings, swings overlooking the rice field & also traditional cooking classes.

The best coffee that I’ve tried in Ubud so far would be Seniman Coffee Studio that is located in the city center of Ubud. A little bit of their history:

Seniman is one of the Indonesia’s leading specialty coffee and design brands. Seniman is a green bean processor, coffee exporter, roaster, maker, explorer, and proudly based in Indonesia"

The place itself is pretty convenient and amazing for they have 3 different shops right across each other: One is the cafe itself, one is the coffee beans & other merchandise shop, and also workshop. They have created Indonesia’s coffee flavor wheel that you can find it on their website (source is put down below). I’d say their company’s concept is pretty smart and eco-friendly.

Me and my family ordered quite a lot of coffee that day (one for each - well let me rephrase that, 3 coffee tasters for me and the rest of them order one each). Some of it are good, some just didn’t work for me. I ended up buying their coffee beans too. Here’s the coffee rundown:

Coldbrew Trans X: my least favorite coffee is this one right here. They mix the Bali Kintamani and Sumatra coffee. Honestly? It’s too bitter&too strong but in a bad way. The taste of the bitterness is making me wanna stop drinkin it all together…

Medium Dark Roast - Sumatra Gayo: this is my most fav filtered coffee in Seniman. Taste-wise is just right on point. I can taste abit of chocolatey and it has a nice thickness to it.

Lighter Roast - Bali Karana Madu: call me a girl with lots of high expectations, this one is just okay but not a big fan of it. It’s pretty bland and too light (i know it’s called ‘Lighter Roast’ for a reason but it just doesn’t work for me). On a side-note, I am a fan of their smell. It’s has a light-medium kinda smell.

Overall, I really like the place itself. It’s actually great if you want to grab a snack and drink great coffee. I think you can never skip this spot every time you visit place.
