Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food - oftentimes thoughts in my head or even write pieces about love or life. Hope you have a nice stay!

Poke Sushi - Dharmawangsa

Poke Sushi - Dharmawangsa

Landed in Japan? Not quite. This previous week I weirdly craving for sushi all week. Ended up eating at Genki Sushi twice plus this hidden gem right here. It was yesterday when I discovered this place - people say the Chef is still originally from Japan, which actually what caught my interest. To be honest, I have been looking at this place at different locations before but never had the opportunity to try - ended up close all of their other branches and this ones the only one left. Boy, was I lucky to finally try out this place!

Poke Sushi is located right in front of Dharmawangsa Square. From the price point - don’t expect it to be crazy pricey like any other fancy Sushi places, I personally think this is super affordable with their quality of food. The restaurant itself has 2 floors with sushi bar and a few dining tables on the first floor & the dining room on the second floor. The restaurant wasn’t that crowded for a Sunday night but really, if you’re looking for a good Chirashi bowl this would be the perfect place.

Chirashi Bowl - Combination of Sashimi on a bed of Sushi Rice, Served with Special Chef’s Choice of Salad & Miso Soup: This what makes the night perfect. I mean a bowl of chirashi that’s pretty good when we talk about PORTION and TEXTURE. I mean…

I mean a bowl of chirashi that’s pretty good when we talk about PORTION and TEXTURE. I mean, it’s good for sharing, it’s literally like a bulk of sashimi of heaven. The only downside is the rice, not as good as I expected.

Crunchy Spicy Tuna - Spicy Tuna & Tempura Crunch: This would be perfect if you need something fried but not really oily. The crunch makes everything so so perfect. The tuna tho? not so much.

Special Chef’s Choice of Salad : Basically this is just Salmon and Mayo. Well, need I say more? Salmon + Mayo = WHERES THE SEARED? But it’s included in the Chirashi menu, so why not?

Toro Sushi - I expected to melt during my first bite but it didn’t. Not giving me the sense of “OMG”

Overall, I still think this is worth to try if you’re kindof bored with other Sushi places - I mean, they have the cutest wall for you to take a photo so why not?! It deserves a 6.5 / 10.
