Guten Morgen - Jakarta
A Germany Cafe, that’s what came to mind when I found this coffee shop on Instagram. It’s been almost a year since the very first time I saw this coffee shop online and it’s been 6 hours since the FIRST TIME I VISIT THIS PLACE. Yes - you are reading it right, this coffee shop has been sitting on my list for the longest time but I just haven’t find the right time or moment to actually go here.
Initially today’s visit was unplanned and I was so glad for visiting today, specifically at 9 am., cause no one was there and it was literally heaven for me - took hundreds of pictures without worrying I’d disturb others or feeling uneasy because no social distancing would be make if there are many people there.
Anywaaaays, ok - enough with the pep talk, let’s talk about this coffee shop.
First of all - this coffee shop doesn’t have a Germany dish (or maybe there is but I missed it). I was only able to find some sandwiches and regular breakfast menu. So I guess, the name itself was the only one that’s ‘German’ about this place. The interior exceed my expectation tbh - because at first, I thought it’s going to be a tiny - mini - small place but turns out, there are at least 15-20 seats (or was it more? I think it was up to 25 seats) there. We had to order our food and drinks at the counter and the menu itself is placed right at the counter - so there was only one menu. To be honest, for me it was inconvenient cause it’s a coffee shop that serves breakfast, what happens if its crowded? then people will have to kinda line up in front of the counter & disturb other people that are sitting down while ordering.
Second of all - the service itself. It was only us three that dined in at 9 am in the morning and we ordered 3 different food (keep reading and we’ll get to the food rundown below) - it took 30 minutes for them to prepare our food ~ especially our sandwich (t’was the last one that came out, it actually took 20 minutes itself). Whenever the food / drinks are ready to be served, they keep on calling my name to basically take it at the counter ~ I am honestly unsure if this is their service from the beginning or just because it’s a ‘safety protocol’ but I think it’s quite odd for them to not send our food to the table directly & basically I had to travel back and forth to get my food at least 4 times. I think this is a bit of a hassle cause I’ve been to a lot, let me repeat - A LOT of coffee shops during this pandemic (and there are many restaurants/coffee shops that perform safety protocol to the next level) but never have I ever being asked to take my food from the counter by myself.. so… they might need to re-think about this ‘safety protocol’ if this is truly the rules that they made and not the servers being lazy.
Ok enough of that, let’s get into the Food Rundown!
Will I ever come back? Yes, but probably just for the coffee cause well, I just can’t take the service time, it’s just so slow that kinda made me disappointed. Overall, I’d give this a solid 7/10 and wow, the aesthetic is just so strong!
